Tessa & Our Thin Blue Line Flag

September 12th, 2017

The following post was made on the Palm Springs Police Officers’ Association Facebook page a few days ago.

“In honor of our heroes; Officer Gil Vega and Officer Lesley Zerebny we are asking residents of the Coachella Valley to display a Thin Blue Line Flag on their home and or business until October 8, 2017. We will have 3 x 5 flags for sale at the Police Station for only $10. Thank you for the love you have shown our Officers.”

After reporting difficulties in obtaining a flag, Officer Joe Cook,  PSPOA president, delivered one to my residence. He mounted it on my pole, asked for permission to take a photo, and thanked me for the donation and my support.

Later I took several photos of the Thin Blue Line Flag with Tessa seated  (in the shade) at the bottom.

Officer Cook said he would be willing to deliver flags to any who are unable to pick one up from the Police Department lobby window. His email address is: j.Cook@palmspringspoa.com. If more information is needed, I have his card and may be able to respond using that source. View the original PSPOA Facebook post at: https://www.facebook.com/PSPOA/videos/1565250090205336/

Meaning of the Thin Blue Line Flag

The Blue represents the officer and the courage they find deep inside when faced with insurmountable odds. The Black background was designed as a constant reminder of our fallen brother and sister officers.
