Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles Season 36 Performance

December 14th, 2014

Attended the GMCLA Holiday Spectacular performance at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills yesterday (December 13th). The following, excerpted from the Artistic Director’s letter in the program, sums up the outstanding Saturday evening event my sister and I enjoyed.

“GMCLA’s annual Holiday Spectacular is one of the most popular and anticipated holiday concert events in Los Angeles. this year, we present a Glee-ful Celebration: traditional favorites, new and exotic selections from around the world, delightful surprises, hilarious spoofs, and a fabulous cast of characters from Santa and his elves to our own show-stopping version of the Nativity. I’m gleeful just thinking about it!”

The program was inspired by “the hit TV Show Glee and musical favorites performed by men’s glees over the years”.

The Nativity scene spoof was definitely a show-stopping crowd pleaser.

We started our evening off with dinner nearby at The Stinking Rose Garlic Restaurant on La Cienega’s restaurant row. They feature valet parking (allowed us to leave vehicle during theater performance) which, along with the tasty dinner fare, speedy service and genuinely friendly staff, made our evening a completely satisfying excursion.
